If you checked out last week’s blog post on 5 Podcasts That Can Help Boost Your Personal Finances you may find yourself a little more financially savvy and ready to dip your toes in the sea of making and saving money. Here are 5 fun and super handy apps to start you on the journey to becoming a financial superhero:

1 – WealthSimple

If you want to stay away from your banks, but feel like smart investing, definitely give Wealthsimple a try.  They simplify everything down, from what your money is being invested in, to how much you can expect to earn over time.

2 – You Need a Budget (YNAB)

If you struggle with budgeting, this is a great little app. It’s super easy to figure out and they really dig deep on your purchasing habits. If you’re spending wayyyy too much cash on weekly gummy bear runs, YNAB will let you know.

3 – Drop

Now if you’re already spending a boatload of money at Starbucks, Shoppers, the liquor store (cough cough), or pretty much anywhere, definitely download Drop. You earn tons of points on everyday purchases that can be redeemed for various gift cards at multiple stages. The best thing is that points rack up and you don’t even notice!

4 – Borrowell

Confused by the mysterious world of credit scores? Borrowell updates you with free credit scores and reports each month. Not only this, but they provide lots of credit related recommendations that will work well in getting you approved and building up your credit score.

5 – Apple Pay

You’ve probably heard of it, but do you actually use it? Apple Pay is a super handy way of connecting your payment cards to your thumbprint so you can easily pay with the tap of a button. It’s especially handy for when you spend hours at the grocery store… to then realize you forgot your wallet… Been there, done that.
